Antonin Teisseire - $5,000 Triple Chance No-Limit Hold'em Bracelet Winner

Teisseire, 45, is a professional poker player from Tassin-la-Demi-Lune, France. Teisseire has been playing poker for over 25 years. However, it was only recently that he started playing for any serious money. He says that he originally started playing in bar and restaurant games about 5 years ago.

Though Teisseire won his largest cash ever, and first bracelet, in a No-Limit Hold’Em event his normal game is five card draw. This was the game that was commonly played in the French bar games that Teisseire frequented back home.

As of now, Teisseire’s career earnings are $1,469,390. Before his win at the WSOP, Teisseire won $490,354 for coming in 3rd at the Partouche Poker Tour – Grand Final in Cannes. He had another nice score at the 2009 EPT Monte Carlo for $52,594.

Event #50 proved to be a success for Teisseire but he was going to have some stiff competition. Barry Greenstein, Vanessa Selbst, Erica Schoenberg, Phil Laak and Carlos Mortensen were all in competition. The end of Day 1 had reduced the starting field of 817 to 236.

Day 2 saw the field narrowed to 34 players. Teisseire had chipped up to 281,000 chips by the time action was stopped for the day. Teisseire moved on to Day 3 along with Eric Froehlich, David Bakes Baker, Isaac Baron, and Vitaly Lunkin, among others.

When the final table was reached on Day 3 Teisseire found himself the shorstack with only 760,000 in chips. Teisseire soon doubled through Eric Froehlich when Froehlich rose from the button and Teisseire shoved from the big blind. Froehlich held Ah-7c and Teisseire had Ac-Jh.

Teisseire continued to chip up until it action was stopped for the day with four players remaining.  Adam Geyer (3,730,000), Antonin Teisseire (3,425,000), Darryl Ronconi (3,000,000) and Eric Froehlich (2,125,0000) would all have to return for a Day 4.

It finally got down to heads-up between Teisseire and Ronconi. Teisseire kept the pressure on until Ronconi was forced to shove all in with Qs-8c. Teisseire snap called with As-8h.  The flop came Ts-Qh-3h and it looked like Ronconi was alive. The turn was the 2h and gave Teisseire more outs. The river was the 9h, giving Teisseire the flush. Teisseire cheered as he won his first ever WSOP bracelet.
