Day 1 of the event saw Lex Veldhuis, Cyndy Violette, and Allen Bari eliminated. Among the chip leaders at the end of Day 1 were Daniel Negreanu, Eugene Katchalov and Barry Greenstein.

Day 2 began with 173 players. An early bust out was Todd Brunson who got his remaining chips in during the Hold’Em round against Shirley Rosario. Brunson raised, Rosario three-bet and Brunson 4-bet. Brunson got his remaining stack in on the flop holding Ac-Qs on a flop of Jc-2h-3s. Rosario held pocket jacks.

A mild controversy occurred on Day 2 when Michael Binger bet less then the minimum required during a Hold’Em round. The limits were 3,000-6,000 and he bet 1,500. His opponent check raised him to 3,000.

Daniel Negreanu was at the table and began to give his opinion on the matter. This upset Binger who told Negreanu to say out of the conversation. The Tournament director came over to settle the dispute. The ruling was that Binger’s bet would be 3,000 and the raise would be ruled as a call.

Eventual winner Soulier busted Huck Seed during the Omaha-8 portion of the rotation when Soulier’s trip 4’s had Seed drawing dead. This pot put Soulier in the chip lead.

At the end of Day 2 there were 23 players remaining. Michael Binger was the chip leader heading into Day 3 with 742,000 in chips. Right behind him was Soulier with 560,000 in chips. Other notables included John Monnette with 325,000 in chips, Chau Giang with 262,000 and Tom Dwan with 135,000.

The final table was going to be a tough one. Shawn Buchanan, Max Pescatori and Tom Dwan were all there vying for the title. Dwan was the chip leader with 1,625,00 in chips. Max Pescatori was the short stack with 105,000 in chips. Dwan lost several big pots and was eventually eliminated inn 5th place during the Stud round.

The final two players were Shawn Buchanan and Soulier. Day 3 ended with Soulier holding a 6-1-chip lead over Buchanan. On Day 4 the blinds were 120k/240k and the first game up was Omaha 8. With so few chips it was going to be difficult for Buchanan to win.

The final hand had the players all in on the flop. The flop was the Tc-8d-4h. Buchanan held Jc-Jd-Ts-7h and Soulier held Qd-Js-8h-6h. The turn came an Ad and the river was the 6s. Soulier scooped the pot and won the tournament.
