Millenium Ride Strategy

By understanding the rules and by considering the payout table for Millennium Ride it becomes apparent that there is usually a good reason for either letting you bets ride or taking a bet back. Your initial decision has to be made based upon your three hole cards.

It stands to reason that you should let your bets ride if with just your three hole cards you already hold a paying hand. So if you have a pair of Tens, Jacks, Queens, Kings or Aces or hold trips (three-of-a-kind) you should let it ride.

There are also some other combinations of your three cards that you may consider worth keeping your bets on the table for. The main consideration here is the size of the payout you can expect from Royal Flushes (1000 to 1) and Straight Flushes (200 to 1) and the possibility of hitting qualifying consolation hands.

If you hold any three cards that could play a part in a royal flush it is probably smart to let it ride. You have a chance of hitting the dream cards to make the Royal Flush but also three high cards that could at least be paired for a 1 to 1 pay off. Also if you hold three consecutive suited cards in a row, (apart from 2, 3, 4, and Ace, 2, 3), then the chance of making a straight flush or another qualifying consolation hand is big enough to warrant risking all of your bets at this stage. If the hand doesn’t improve of course you still have the chance to take back a bet on the next round.

There are also a couple of other types of combinations that you should look out for with three visible cards. If you have three cards to a straight flush with two of those cards being consecutive and at least one of your cards is a Ten, Jack, Queen, King or Ace (eg 8, 9, Jack all of clubs) then it is probably worth letting it ride. The same is true if you hold three cards to a straight flush, where none of the cards are consecutive but at least two of the cards are a Ten, Jack, Queen, King or Ace.

Once the dealer turns his first card you have considerably more information upon which to base your decision whether to let your bets ride or turn back. Of course with four cards visible you have a very good reason to let your remaining bets ride if you have any paying hand such as a pair of tens or better, two pair or three of a kind.

Considering the potential payouts there is also a good reason to keep your money on the table if you hold any four cards to a royal flush, a straight flush or a flush. Also if you hold an open ended straight draw with at least one card that is ten or better you should let your bets ride. There are a couple of other marginal situations to consider too, if you hold an open ended straight draw without high cards or an inside straight draw with four cards that are ten or better then it maybe worth taking a chance and letting your bets ride as the house edge is zero in these circumstances. In these marginal situations over time you will win as much as you will lose by letting it ride.

We must stress that the strategy outlined above is only provided as a recommendation. Following the guidelines certainly does not guarantee success at the Millennium Ride tables. However we hope that the points made will help you to play smarter.
