Meet Your 2011 WSOP November Nine

The November Nine of the 2011 WSOP Main Event was reached early Wednesday morning with Martin Staszko leading the field with 40 Million.  Ben Lamb and Phil Collins are the two featured stars at the final table.

Here is a complete breakdown of the 2011 WSOP November Nine:

Martin Staszko           40,175,000

Staszko, 35, is from the Trinec, Czech, Republic. He is a full time poker pro but there is not much history on his game. What is known about him is that also plays competitive chess and tennis. He has cashed 5 times at the WSOP this year. He cashed in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha High Lo, as well as in two $1,500 No Limit events and the $1,000 No Limit event. Staszko said that he would love to be the first Czech to win a Main Event bracelet.

Eoghan O’Dea           33,925,000

O’Dea, 26, is from Dublin, Ireland. O’Dea is the son of famous poker pro Donnacha O’Dea. Donnacha made the final table twice, once in 1983 and again in 1991. Eoghan is a renowned pro in his own right and has over 700K in career winnings. Eoghan’s biggest cash to date came in 2009 when he cashed for $378K at the WPT Marrakech. This will be the fourth cash at the 2011 WSOP for O’Dea, however it is certainly the largest. His other 3 cases were all four-figure scores in small buy in events.

Matt Giannetti           24,750,000

Matt Giannetti hails from Austin, Texas. He is a self-taught poker pro. He transitioned from online poker to live poker after moving to Las Vegas. He has over 500K in tournament winnings and has cashed in the WSOP a total of 8 times.

Phil Collins                 23,875,000

Collins comes from Columbia, South Carolina. He got into poker during his freshman year at the University of South Carolina. When he graduated in 2006 he turned pro. He is a well-known online player who has cashed for over $3.3 million online.

Ben Lamb                   20,875,000

Ben Lamb is from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is only 26, but has already caught the attention of the poker world with his outstanding 2011 WSOP. Lamb began playing in 2006 and was known primarily as a Pot Limit Omaha specialist. At this year’s WSOP Lamb won a bracelet in a 10K event as well as coming in 2nd in another event and he also final tabled the $50K Poker Players Championship. His total winnings for the series so far are $2.15 million and this does not include the Main Event.

Badih Bounahra         19,700,000

Bounahra, 49, is the oldest player at the final table. He was born in Lebanon, spent some time in Ft. Lauderdale and now lives in Belize. Bounahra runs a wholesale grocery business and also likes to play poker recreationally. He first cashed in the 2008 WSOP when he cashed in a $2K No-Limit Event.

Pius Heinz                   16,425,000

Heinz, 22, is a student from Cologne, Germany. Heinz is primarily an online player and this is his first major live tournament. He came 7th in the $1,500 No Limit Event and took home $83,286 earlier this summer.

Anton Makievskyi     13,825,000

Anton Makievskyi, 21, is a student from the Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. Makievskyi came to the WSOP primarily to play the Main Event. If he wins, he will be the youngest player ever to take down the title.

Samuel Holden           12,375,000

Holden, 22, comes from Canterbury, United Kingdom. He is the last remaining UK player left. Holden is primarily an online player. While he only has $10K in live winnings, he has over $250K in online winnings. Holden has said he spent time playing live tournaments in England in order to practice for the Main Event.

The November Nine will come back to the Rio on November 5th where they will battle down to the final two players.  Those players will come back on the 7th and play for the bracelet and $8.7 Million.
