WSOP Player of the Year Standings Through 12 Events

The 2011 World Series of Poker is in full swing with 12 events completed and two more scheduled to be completed tonight.  For many, the measure of greatness at the WSOP is a gold championship bracelet.  However, there is another title that many seek that play in numerous events each year, and that is WSOP Player of the Year.

Amir Lehavot currently leads with 330.75 points.

The Player of the Year format was recently revamped and made to resemble that of Bluff Magazine’s Player of the Year formula.  As such, higher buy-in events and events with larger fields get more weight than smaller buy-in or small field events.

We have the current standings for Player of the Year through twelve events.  Amir Lehavot is the current leader with 330.75 points.  He took down the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em Championship last Friday for $573,456.  Viacheslav Zhukov is right behind him with 315 points.  He took down the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo Championship bracelet just yesterday.  Jake Cody, the $10,000 Heads-Up Champion, is third with 300 points.

The points breakdown for the Player of the Year can be found at Bluff Magazine’s site.  Below are the current top 25 in points:
